Baited, again
It is not uncommon
To be caught in a cycle
Of fear and excitement,
To eroticise shame
When closeness feels like danger
It is not uncommon
To carry rituals and compulsions,
Re-enacting old wounds
In an unconscious attempt
To master them
But maybe the urge
Does not need to be emptied every time
Perhaps it can be transformed
Into something that nourishes you
Maybe you are not unlovable
Maybe you just want to be accepted
To feel chosen
To feel loved
To feel safe
